Jennifer Betts founded Magnar Metals to solve a problem she saw firsthand over 20 years in the metals industry: companies with great products and strong operations, but no strategic partner helping them find the technologies, relationships, and market opportunities that drive the next phase of growth.

Her career began at Nucor and AK Steel, where she built deep expertise in finance, commodities, and the operational realities of steel production. That foundation shapes everything Magnar Metals does today. When we evaluate a technology partnership or scout a market opportunity, we are not working from abstractions. We understand how purchasing decisions get made, how plant economics work, and what it takes to move from pilot to production.

Today, Jennifer leads Magnar Metals as a strategic advisory firm serving recycling companies, steel producers, equipment manufacturers, and critical minerals firms. The company provides market intelligence, strategic consulting, deal origination, and digital marketing services built on authentic industry relationships rather than generic consulting frameworks.

Beyond Magnar Metals, Jennifer holds leadership roles across the metals and sustainability ecosystem, including PR and digital marketing leadership for an international steel decarbonization council, a vice presidency at a nonprofit recycling industry organization, and advisory board positions for emerging companies in the circular economy space. She is an active member of AIST and AWMI.

Jennifer is a recognized voice on artificial intelligence applications in the metals industry, integrating AI tools across market intelligence, content strategy, and consulting workflows. She helps manufacturing executives cut through vendor hype and focus on AI solutions that deliver real productivity and decision-making improvements.

She hosts three industry podcasts: Betts on the Future, which spotlights women and innovators reshaping sustainability and technology in metals and manufacturing; Metals & Advanced Manufacturing, a technical podcast exploring automation, carbon strategy, and industrial innovation; and Metals Market Minutes on Substack, delivering weekly market intelligence. Jennifer holds a degree from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, where she tutored Excel and developed the analytical frameworks she still applies to market intelligence today. A Gold Award Girl Scout, she continues to lead a Girl Scout troop and coach youth baseball in Southern California, where she lives with her husband and two children.
